HIGH COMMISSIONER TO MALTA H.E. KALSOUME SINARE CALLS ON DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF NLA
Ghana's High Commissioner to Malta and celebrated actress, H.E. Kalsoume Sinare, on Friday, September 26, 2025, accompanied by the immediate past High Commissioner to Malta, H.E. Barbara Akuorkor Benisa, paid a courtesy call on the Director-General, Mr. Mohammed Abdul-Salam.
H.E. Sinare informed the DG that she had contacted H.E. Barbara Benisa, who told her of the ties and partnership between the NLA, the Maltese government, and the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA). She therefore decided to follow up with the NLA to see how she could collaborate with the Authority to further this relationship and address any outstanding issues with Malta.
The Director-General, Mr. Mohammed Abdul-Salam, welcomed the ambassadors, praising them for their collaborative efforts in advancing the cause of the NLA and Ghana. Following a briefing on the history and relationship of the NLA's ties with the MGA, which included visits by the former President of Malta, H.E. Dr. George Vella, and Dr. Ian Borg, the former Foreign, European Affairs and Trade Minister, Mr. Abdul-Salam pledged his commitment to ensure that the NLA maintains its relationship with the MGA and the Maltese government, with the support of H.E. Sinare.
H.E. Sinare also expressed her deep gratitude to H.E. Benisa for her significant support and the foundation she had established. She assured the DG of her dedication to continuing the work initiated by her predecessor, particularly in fostering collaboration between the NLA and MGA. She emphasized that she would advocate for the signing of the MOU, which would enable staff to participate in an exchange program with their counterparts in Malta. Once finalized, the MOU will allow ten NLA staff members to visit MGA annually to observe best practices.
Ghana's immediate past High Commissioner, H.E. Benisa, in expressing her gratitude to the DG for his time and willingness to meet with them, also reaffirmed her support for her successor, H.E. Sinare, and the Director-General, Mr. Mohammed Abdul-Salam, in building on her work.
