NLA PRESENTS GHC100,000 TO VOLTA REGIONAL COORDINATING COUNCIL IN SUPPORT OF TIDAL WAVE VICTIMS.


The National Lottery Authority (NLA) has responded to the call by the Volta Regional Coordinating Council to support victims of tidal waves by presenting a cheque of GH₵100,000 to the Council.

The Director-General, Mr. Mohammed Abdul-Salam, presented the cheque to the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, who was accompanied by the Municipal Chief  Executive of Ketu South Municipal Assembly, Mr. Nicholas Kwabla Worclachie, along with some assembly members.

Mr. Abdul-Salam emphasized the NLA's swift response to the disaster, stating that the organization, through its Good Causes Foundation, acted promptly to help alleviate the plight of the victims and believes the NLA’s contribution will provide immediate relief to the displaced families.

According to the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, the NLA is the first institution to respond to their call for help. He thanked Mr. Abdul-Salam and management for the support, which will make a substantial impact on the lives of the affected people. 

He further explained that the victims of the tidal waves have lost their economic livelihoods and are living in tents. The funds will be used to provide shelter, food, and clothing to the displaced victims of Agavedzi, Asalakope,and Amunitsi.
