NLA GOOD CAUSES FOUNDATION COMMISSIONS A 3 UNIT CLASSROOM BLOCK IN AKANTENG.

On Thursday, 26th June 2025, the NLA Good Causes Foundation commissioned a newly constructed 3-unit classroom block at Akanteng Methodist Primary & Junior High School in the Eastern Region. The facility includes a headmistress's office, staff common room, kitchen, storeroom, eight washrooms, a mechanised borehole and a Polytank. The project is aimed at improving teaching and learning conditions in the Akanteng Traditional Area.

The event was attended by key dignitaries including the Chief of Akanteng, Barima Appiah Darkwa III, MP for Lower West Akim, Hon. Owen Kwame Frimpong, MCE, Hon. Paulina Akabila, NLA Good Causes Foundation Coordinator, Mr. Kadiri Abdul Rauf Issifu, and other local authorities and education officials.

In her remarks, Headmistress Madam Gifty B. Sintim explained how the school's deteriorated structure led to an appeal to the NLA through the former MP, Hon. Appiatu Ankrah. The current Member of Parliament continued the effort to completion and further supported the school with new furniture.

Representing the Director-General of NLA, Mr. Issifu outlined the Foundation's work, highlighting its impact under the education pillar and urging students to stay away from underage gaming and also raised awareness about lottery fraud. The Chief of Akanteng expressed his appreciation to the NLA Good Causes Foundation and all stakeholders involved, pledging to ensure proper maintenance of the new facility and calling for more such projects to support development in the area.
