DIRECTOR GENERAL PAYS A COURTESY CALL ON YAA-NAA OF DAGBON AND THE UPPER EAST REGIONAL MINISTER.
As part of the regional tour of the Northern Regional Offices, on Thursday, 22nd May 2025, the Director-General and his team visited the Overlord of Dagbon, Ya-Na Abukari II, at the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi. The purpose of the visit was to pay homage to the Ya-Na and seek his blessings following Mr. Abdul-Salam's assumption of office as the Director-General of the NLA.
In a show of support for the preservation of culture and heritage, Mr. Abdul-Salam pledged GHC 50,000 towards the rebuilding of the palace. The donation will be made through the NLA's Good Causes Foundation under the Arts and Culture pillar.
As a token of appreciation, the Ya-Na presented a traditional smock to the Director-General, offered prayers for his success and encouraged him to remain focused on his goals and advised him not to be distracted by negative criticism.
Mr. Abdul-Salam also paid a courtesy call on the Upper East Regional Minister, Hon. Akamugri Donatus Atanga, who pledged his support in facilitating the acquisition of land for the construction of a permanent office structure for the NLA.
The visit was warmly received, with both the Ya-Na and the Regional Minister expressing their appreciation and pledging their unwavering support for the Director-General whenever called upon.
