DIRECTOR-GENERAL EXPLORES PARTNERSHIPS IN CHINA TO TRANSFORM LOTTERY OPERATIONS
The Director General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), Mr. Mohammed Abdul-Salam, recently embarked on a significant visit to China to further the Authority’s digital agenda. This strategic trip included meetings with Genlot Game Technology and participation in the Huawei Executive Exchange, as part of broader efforts to modernize Ghana’s lottery systems, extend services to rural areas, and combat unregulated paper-based operations.
During his visit to Genlot’s headquarters in Shenzhen, Mr. Abdul-Salam met with senior executives to examine innovative lottery technologies, especially scalable Point-of-Sale (POS) systems tailored for rural and low-infrastructure environments.
The visit concluded with facility tours and cultural engagements in Donguanand Shenzhen, reinforcing collaboration between the NLA and its Chinese partners. To drive these efforts forward, the NLA will form a technical committee, initiate MOU discussions with Huawei Ghana, and schedule a follow-up session with Genlot to align on procurement timelines.
These partnerships signal a strong commitment to innovation and modernization, positioning the NLA to better serve all Ghanaians and strengthen regulatory control across the sector.
